Large Format Changes the Rules
A 1200 mm slab has no tolerance for a substrate that a 300 mm tile would forgive. Lippage between edges, hollow spots and cracked corners are almost always substrate problems, not installation shortcuts — which is why we treat preparation as part of the tiling scope.
The same applies to natural stone, where variation between slabs means layout has to be planned across the whole area before the first tile is set, not resolved tile by tile as the work proceeds.

Minimal grout lines across floors and walls, with the flatness tolerance and handling that oversized panels demand.
Natural Stone
Marble, limestone and other natural materials, dry-laid and sequenced for vein and tone before fixing, then sealed appropriately.
Bathrooms & Wet Rooms
Waterproofing, falls to drain, niches and benches — the parts that decide whether a wet room performs, all hidden once tiling is complete.
Feature Walls & Fireplaces
Book-matched slabs and full-height installations where the layout is set out for symmetry around the focal point.
Commercial Areas
Entrances, washrooms and circulation areas where slip performance, movement joints and durability matter as much as appearance.
Transitions to Other Finishes
Where tile meets hardwood, microcement or a stair nosing, detailed so levels and lines resolve cleanly rather than being trimmed over.
Tile or Microcement?
Both work in wet areas, and clients often weigh them against each other. Tile offers material variety, easy spot repair and proven longevity. Microcement offers a continuous surface with no grout lines to clean or discolour. Since we install both, we have no reason to push you toward one, and we will give you the honest trade-off for your specific room.
Our Tiling Process
Substrate & Waterproofing
Flatness corrected, falls formed where needed, and waterproofing applied and checked before a single tile is set.
Set Out
Layout planned so cuts land where they are least visible and full tiles fall on the dominant sightline. Natural stone is dry-laid and sequenced first.
Installation
Full adhesive coverage, levelling systems on large format, and movement joints placed where the structure requires them rather than where they are convenient.
Grouting & Sealing
Grout colour confirmed against the tile before application, and porous stone sealed with the appropriate product for its type and location.
Tile & Stone Questions
Can you tile over an existing floor?
Sometimes, if the existing surface is sound, well bonded and within tolerance, and the added height works at doors and transitions. Often removal is the safer route, and we will say which applies.
Does natural stone need sealing?
Most porous stones do, and marble in particular stays vulnerable to acids even when sealed. We explain the realistic maintenance before you commit to a material.
Why do large tiles need levelling systems?
Because any difference in height between adjacent edges is visible and catches the light along a long joint. Levelling clips hold neighbouring tiles flush while the adhesive cures.
Do you supply the tile as well as install it?
We install client-supplied material and can also advise on selection and sourcing. Either way we confirm quantities including cutting allowance before ordering.
